I have filters at the initial SMTP connection, and the "MAIL FROM:"/"RCPT TO:" addresses are checked for validity. I maintaining "blocking lists" (the ' *域名隐藏* am' IP route blocking list, and the 'access' SMTP MAIL FROM:/RCPT TO: pattern blocking list) of hosts and/or IP addresses and/or e-mail addresses from which my servers will not accept mail (or any other kinds of connections such as HTTP) under any circumstances. There are 3 categories of sites that may appear on the list: dedicated junk mailers (e.g. 'cyberpromo(dot)com') / cracker havens. sites that are the source of a lot of ***m, have non-responsive administrators, but also have legitimate users. [This category may be problematic, as I may want to exchange mail with some of these domains.] temporary offenders. The addition and removal of sites to/from the "blocking" list is also of concern. The following policy is used for adding sites to the list: After the second incident if there is no response from the ISP responsible for the offender. After the third incident regardless. Note that a site can be added to the blocking list for other abuses other than ***mming - e.g. continued TELNET / FTP / HTTP attacks on our servers. The following policy will be used for removals from the list: Contact from an administrator at the ISP responsible for the offender saying the account has been closed or some such similar action has been taken.
